About My Clients
I work best with people interested in exploring their struggles through talk therapy. This tends to be people with anxiety, depression, trauma or others who are seeking space to understand their experiences in a relationship, a conflict, work etc. As the daughter of immigrants and South Asian- these are two populations I am patient about working with.
My Background and Approach
As a medical student, I was most drawn toward psychiatry, and as a psychiatrist, I am most drawn towards psychoanalysis. Both are reflections of my interest in the human experience and my curiosity about people and their journeys. My training in both fields allows me to take an approach that considers the whole person: body, mind, past, and present. I received my medical degree from SUNY Upstate University in Syracuse, NY over ten years ago. Since then, I have completed my residency in adult psychiatry at Mount Sinai St. Luke's. As a psychoanalyst, I dedicated myself to additional training in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis through the William Alanson White Institute. I have worked and trained in a variety of settings and I am comfortable and passionate about treating depression, anxiety, trauma, issues related to identity, as well as many other difficulties.
