About My Clients

Life-altering experiences, such as childhood adversity or other painful events, can often manifest as trauma or PTSD, resulting in anxiety, depression, irritability, and heightened sensitivity to people and environments. Amid life's challenges, discovering inner strength is possible. I offer support with empathy and understanding. I've navigated many of these issues firsthand, fueling my commitment to this work.

My Background and Approach

As a therapist, my journey began in the world of film, where I first recognized the profound impact of storytelling on people’s lives. I came to understand that storytelling extends far beyond the screen; it shapes our personal narratives, influencing our mental health and perspectives on the world. My goal is to provide a safe space for us to co-explore and co-create the changes you wish to see. As a first-generation Mexican-American graduate, my personal and professional experiences have reinforced the significance of representation. I am deeply committed to expanding mental health literacy and access within BIPOC and creative communities, aiming to destigmatize mental health discussions across generations and cultures. Registered Associate Marriage & Family Therapist #142731. Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor #15094.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a former journalism & film professional, I am attuned to the diversity concerns within these industries and the potential for retraumatization, particularly among BIPOC filmmakers and media professionals. I have experience with life transitions, questioning societal expectations, embracing ADHD/neurodivergence, and choosing a path of being child and marriage-free. I also welcome destigmatizing conversations on various topics, especially sex-positivity, harm reduction, and psychedelic-assisted therapy.
