About My Clients
Many of my clients have been in therapy before, or have been thinking about it starting for a while. They tend to be insightful, verbal, and ready to dig in. I support young adults, women, and folks who identify as part of the LGBTQIAP+ community who are experiencing challenges with anxiety, identity, self-esteem, and burnout. I also support couples and am affirming of non-traditional relationship structures, inc. ENM/poly, and welcome queer-, trans-, and questioning couples. You are safe here.
My Background and Approach
I believe that many of the things that hold us back come from a place of incredible adaptation. The skills we have serve us: Conflict avoidance? Survival skill in unpredictable families of origin. People pleasing? Same. These are highly effective skills in the moment, but there comes a time when they no longer serve us. Learning new ways to engage with the world around you is hard *and* rewarding. You get to write a new chapter, to find a different way of being that supports who you are now. My style is warm, non-judgmental, and laid-back. My approach is client-centered and prioritize the development of strong therapeutic relationships with my clients to create a sense of safety and support. I value authenticity, laughter, and honesty. My clients and I laugh. We keep it real. We swear. We share a space that's welcoming no matter where you're at. We work hard and celebrate often. Grab a cozy drink, get comfy, and let's do it. You are worth the work. You got this, I got you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
TL;DR: I deeply believe that you are worthy of love, respect, and happiness. You are, and always have been, enough. Your hopes, worries, and questions are welcome here. You are welcome here. As a queer, white, mid-sized woman who has late-diagnosed ADHD, I'm attuned to the ways intersectionality informs our experiences. Understanding our intersectionality is a powerful way to better understand . I'm particularly passionate about supporting women and the LGBTQIA+ community. I practice with sex-positive, body-positive lenses and constantly work to incorporate values of decolonization, anti-racism, and fat liberation into my work. Outside of work, I'm a proud mom of a rescue dog (Jake will is a regular screen visitor during sessions) and I love going on adventures with him. Even though I grew up in California, I've lived in New England since 2006 and I absolutely love it. Give me seasons and snow any day!
