About My Clients
I am a systemic therapist, meaning that I work with clients that are interested in exploring their relationships with themselves, others, and the world around them. If you find yourself feeling stagnant in your relationships and you are inclined to express yourself creatively, then you may align with my approach. Ages of 4 and up are welcome at my practice, particularly those seeking emotion regulation techniques, open communication, mind-body-spirit connection, and genuine human connection.
My Background and Approach
I have worked with families, individuals of ages 4 and up, and couples through the use of experiential and humanistic approaches. I also am under supervision toward becoming a play therapist and I try to implement play when possible during sessions. A creative, non-judgmental space is paramount within my practice and is geared toward the progress of the client. Utilizing skills of solution-focused, narrative, experiential, emotion-focused, and humanistic approaches, I prioritize the client’s experience as the basis of each session. I see each of my clients with an unconditional positive regard and work toward your specific goals, drawing from the idea that the client is the expert of their own experience. It is my job to help you in your journey toward your unique healing path.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a firm believer in the idea that the world impacts us as much as we impact the world. Based on my experiences, the systemic impacts that society has on us and our familial belief systems is palpable, especially now more than ever. Many of the tribulations that bring us to therapy can be seen as effects of the world around us. It is also my belief that we can find empowerment through our acknowledgment of this impact and use it as a strength toward a brighter tomorrow. It is important to understand the cyclical nature of this world and how few things are truly linear. By seeing ourselves in this cycle, I feel that it can bring us closer to one another and connect with ourselves in a way that connects us to others. Understanding the systems we are in and our unique reaction to them can increase our awareness of the important aspects of this world that need healing. I believe that global healing starts with the individual, making mental health so crucial to the progress of our world.
