About My Clients
I believe that compassionate and non-judgemental self-examination can offer us a path toward growth and healing. I work collaboratively with clients to address a range of concerns, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, self-image, major life changes, sex, gender, and sexuality. In addition to my private practice, I am the Director of Mental Health at The LGBT Community Center. I specialize in providing affirming therapy to queer, trans, and gender-expansive folks.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach is psychodynamic and relational, and I weave in skills from behavioral therapies and mindfulness practices when useful for my clients. My practice is social justice oriented and trauma-informed; I believe an essential part of bringing us closer to healing is to acknowledge the ways that systemic oppressions are traumatic and impact mental wellbeing, and to recognize and challenge stigma when it arises.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am committed to centering and affirming the lived experience of folks I work with. I believe strongly in racial justice, bodily autonomy & body liberation, and sex positivity.
