About My Clients
Anxiety, depression and general life stress are very common experiences. It can be scary to recognize these concerns and to try to ask for help. Just by beginning the process, you are showing courage, motivation and self-respect. In therapy, I will create a safe space where you can be heard without judgment. We will identify and use your strengths to help you reach your goals.
My Background and Approach
I have been working as a psychologist for 10 years and have experience providing therapy in different private practice settings and college counseling centers. I view therapy as the process of developing a better understanding of your thoughts, behaviors, emotions and patterns. I utilize a person-centered therapy approach to create a warm, non-judgmental atmosphere where you can feel comfortable, safe and heard. I pull from different evidence-based therapy approaches and techniques including CBT, positive psychology and motivational interviewing to help you realize your personal goals. Often people come to therapy not knowing what to expect. They are unsure of their wants, needs and goals. That is all normal and okay. A big part of therapy is learning about yourself which often involves developing an understanding of what you need, what you want and what that all looks like.
