About My Clients
I have been working in the mental health field since 2010. I began working with many clients who had developmental disorders and Autism; teaching life skills, and behavioral management. In 2012, I started working with children and families within a home and community setting. I finished my master’s in clinical, mental health counseling degree in 2016, and began working with adults, running groups, and completing intakes. Started my own practice in 2019 and doing telehealth since.
My Background and Approach
In therapy, I use many different modalities. I most commonly use CBT, behavioral therapy, ACT, and Biblical counseling. I also use motivational interviewing, family systems, and person-centered. I provide services and therapy based on the client’s individual needs and culture. I use assessments every three months to monitor progress along with client surveys. While working with clients, I approach them on their level, working on goals they are ready to face and work through. I am a behavioralist and approach therapy in this way while incorporating person-centered therapy. Through the use of therapy, coping skills, medication management, and alternative treatments, clients can expect a well-rounded treatment and therapeutic process. UT clients seen on HeadWay (take insurance), VA clients seen on Sondermind (take insurance), New Jersy and Washington clients seen in private practice self-pay with sliding scale fee for service.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I use my experiences, education, and spirituality to help my clients. I view each client differently and work with them based on their needs and culture. I do not discriminate against the LGBTQ community, race, or ethnicity. I am a big believer in using our skills to help our mental health. I myself have ADHD, and use many things to help me work with my ADHD not mask it or medicate it.
