About My Clients
I offer individual, couples, and group therapy to teens, young adults, and adults. I utilize an integrative approach to therapy, meaning I tailor the therapeutic experience directly to your individual needs. Therapy approaches I draw from include psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family systems, and attached based approaches. I have experience working in college counseling centers and private practice. I am passionate about working with members of the LGBTQ+ community.
My Background and Approach
I believe in empowering my clients by supplying a supportive environment to build connections, gain insight, and challenge oneself when necessary. Together, by utilizing a safe space for exploration and growth, we'll work on exploring patterns in relationships, problem-solving to facilitate positive change, and promoting self-discovery. I began my career at the Frost School in Rockville, Maryland, where I expanded my skills as a clinician specializing in anxiety, mood disorders, learning challenges, and developmental delays. I then moved into working at college counseling centers where I helped young adults navigating the complexities of transitioning from adolescence to early adulthood. In these settings, I worked closely with the LGBTQ+ communities on campus by offering support, empowering individual students through their identities, and advocating on their behalf as they faced the difficulty of navigating their identities.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a firm believer that therapy and healing are not always linear processes. Thus, my most core philosophy as a therapist is meeting my patients “where they are.” We’ll meet for an initial intake session where I will gather detailed information about how you are doing, your background, and what you hope to get out of therapy. Then, I tailor your treatment to meet your specific needs to best promote growth and healing; this can include promoting insight, working on symptom management, developing coping skills, and creating a healthy therapeutic relationship that allows therapy to feel like a safe space to be vulnerable and open.
