About My Clients
Are you looking for a space to feel comfortable being yourself without being judged, have the time to ask your questions, and to be truly listened to AND heard by your psychiatrist? Dr. Jackson believes in offering a safe, non-judgmental, supportive, trauma-informed and affirmative care for her patients. She offers both medication management as well as therapy, with options for in-person (Tampa) or virtual care (FL & MA).
My Background and Approach
Dr. Jackson is originally from Arkansas. She graduated top of her medical school class from the University of Arkansas, before pursuing her specialized psychiatry training at the esteemed Harvard Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Psychiatry Residency Program where she was the program chief resident. Dr. Jackson recognizes the importance of a personalized treatment plan where the psychiatrist and the patient work together in active collaboration to develop a plan that aligns with the patient’s unique needs and circumstances — this may include medication management, therapy, or a combination of both. Dr. Jackson is trained in a variety of therapy modalities including psychodynamic, CBT, acceptance and commitment therapy, and DBT. She is dedicated to helping her patients achieve the fulfilling lives they deserve.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Dr. Jackson believes in supporting everyone in being their truest selves. She grew up in small town rural Arkansas where discrimination was rampant, seeing friends and family being harassed and threatened due to their identities, race, and spiritual beliefs. Part of what led her to psychiatry was the hope to be able to be an ear and support system to those who have experienced trauma. She has participated in marches and community advocacy in support of LGBTQ+ rights, women’s rights, social justice, and suicide prevention.
