About My Clients
My clients are professionals, college students, spouses/partners, kids and teens who come many different backgrounds, careers, cultures and faiths. Some are dealing with anx/dep, mood and relationships, some have survived traumatic events, battle addiction, or challenges of complex grief or an organ transplant. I also work with c-suite, pilots, clergy (various), law enforcement, fire & rescue, medical professionals, professional fine arts (ballet, opera, symphony) and international families.
My Background and Approach
Yes, I'm licensed, Nationally Board Certified (2), over 20 yrs and been clinical leader in every level of care, too. ... *So What?* Credentials are only a part of the picture. I encourage you to call and interview at least 3 counselors before you choose one - ask what areas they specialize in and more importantly what areas they do not. (no one can specialize in everything and it takes years to truly specialize in several). A grounded clinician will have the humility and professionalism to share what areas they do *not work best in - *before you tell them what you are looking for. It's also a good idea to to ask about their experience; where have they worked and what have they done beyond college and courses to truly hone their areas of specialty. *You are important and your emotional health is important. You'd research a car purchase and a babysitter for your child, right? - don't do less for yourself. Call me, I'm happy to answer your questions and help however I can.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value every human being and the unique gifts they bring to the world. I believe that they day we stop learning is the day we stop living. I welcome all faiths and cultures. You will find that I am grounded, ethical, pragmatic and very dedicated to working with my clients. I am active in my professional community, my local community and also volunteer with a local school and a social justice collective. Humility, compassion, integrity and authenticity are paramount in my service to others and I do not take lightly the amount of courage it takes for you to commit to growth and reach out for help.
