About My Clients

Do you feel like an outcast? Struggling with the pressures of being "normal" and don't even know who you are anymore? Or maybe stuck in people pleasing and feel like you allow yourself to be treated poorly way too often? Sometimes finding yourself is not about discovery, but about unraveling all of the bullshit that makes you feel like you aren't enough. I can help you learn how to feel like you again, set boundaries, realize you ARE enough, and live an authentic and fulfilling life.

My Background and Approach

We've all experienced things in out pasts that made us feel like we aren't good enough- for relationships, jobs, maybe even life in general. That core belief affects not only how you feel, but the quality of your relationships, your choices, and your ability to feel comfortable being yourself. It can lead to feeling like you always have to be perfect and can't make mistakes, not knowing what your own needs are, people pleasing, an inability to set boundaries...the list could go on and on. I believe that identifying your values and core beliefs, and then working to make sure how you're living aligns with those values, is a key to minimizing depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, and others. I specialize in working with individuals who want to rediscover who they are and live authentically, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and prison-impacted people. From my experience, individuals in those broad categories experience crises of self more often. I can help.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe people do the best they can at any given time. Often, the best someone can do (both for themselves and others) isn't great. We are held back by beliefs about ourselves and coping skills we developed as children. They might have kept us safe then, but now they hurt us and hold us back. I believe therapy is powerful and can help get your life back on the path you want to be on. Philosophically, I am liberal, sex (and sex worker) positive, body positive; believe Black Lives Matter, love is love, trans* right are human rights, science is real, and in equal rights for all. I have extensive experience working with the LGBTQIA+ community (including folks who fall under the transgender and asexual umbrella terms,) those impacted by incarceration, and those looking to be more comfortable with themselves in many different ways. I think an authentic life is the life most worth living, and love helping people figure out who they really are underneath all of the noise.
