About My Clients
Our clients are motivated to change something about their internal or external life. We guide and/or help treat our clients with mental health issues and interpersonal/relationship challenges. We offer EMDR, DBT, CBT, and we do exploratory psychodynamic therapy. See our specialities below.
My Background and Approach
Dr. Cara Gardenswartz received her PhD from UCLA in clinical psychology in 2001. In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Gardenswartz is a professor of psychology. She sees clients in person and virtually in California and New York. Dr. Laura O'Loughlin works with California clients in person and virtually and utilizes EMDR & CBT, family systems. Both Dr. Gardenswartz and Dr. O'Loughlin work with clients who have trauma, depression, anxiety, neurodiversity, maternal mental health issues as well as clients needing help relationally or at work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Dr. Gardenswartz is on the board of Medical Missions Kenya and goes on medical missions to provide psychological support to remote villagers. She is also on the advisory team of PEERS at UCLA, a social skills program for people on the Autism Spectrum.
