About My Clients
My clients are adult individuals and couples who are want to feel seen, heard and validated. They are interested in somatic and attachment focused therapy to work through trauma, depression and/or anxiety. Many are looking for ways of changing their patterned thinking and behaviors and are feeling stuck in what is not working.
My Background and Approach
I began my career as therapist after finding a passion for helping people. I have always had within me a strong desire to be of service to others and to help hold space for people who are in a difficult time in their lives. I began in community mental health, was part of a mobile crisis team and then moved on to working for a community college. I have been in private practice for 4 years and it is the most rewarding work I have done. I offer a connective and safe approach and utilize somatic (noticing what is happening in the body) to help locate and integrate unresolved parts of us that are feeling stuck or wounded. Using the somatic approach helps us be in our body and move towards our own inner wisdom and reclaim our power. The somatic work is weaved into psychodynamic, attachment focused talk therapy in which the client feels seen, validated and cared for.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I come from a social justice lens and I am queer and jewish identified. I see clients and myself through a social lens and do not underestimate the role of the patriarchy in all of our lives. These are difficult times we are living in and injustice and systematic oppression can leave us feeling traumatized and burned out.
