About My Clients
I'm dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, sex-positive space that warmly welcomes all individuals, including BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. While I adeptly address day-to-day challenges, I'm also skilled in supporting clients through abuse, grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem issues. My approach is particularly attuned to the nuances of relationship dynamics, sexual identity, breakups, and communication, as well as broader relational concerns among family and friends.
My Background and Approach
I received a B.S. in Psychology at Northeastern University and M.A. in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness at New York University, where I further honed my skills through rigorous training in various therapeutic modalities. In our sessions, expect more than the classic therapist nods and the occasional "tell me more." I'm a firm believer in therapy that is not just productive, but also enjoyable. I have a more interactive approach, blending evidence-based techniques with a healthy dose of humor.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Being a woman from a multi-cultural background, I understand the complexities of navigating multiple identities including race, culture, religion, gender, sexual preference, class, and ability. With a unique blend of Caribbean and Middle Eastern heritage, my approach to counseling is enriched by the diverse tapestry of experiences that shape individuals. Together we will delve into how your unique intersectionality shapes your world. I view therapy as a collaborative process fostering the opportunity to build a deeper understanding of yourself, your life, and how best to navigate your new horizons. My goal is to provide a safe, genuine, and non-judgmental space for your personal growth and healing.
