About My Clients
You may have been told you’re wrong, strange, stupid, immature, selfish, etc. since you can first remember. You may think you need to constantly change yourself & what you’re doing to please others – or even exist among others. You may feel you’re too needy, high-maintenance, or [messed]-up compared to others around you. I see you. You don’t have to keep relentlessly trying to make it on your own – this isn’t a From Software game after all!
My Background and Approach
While I may utilize a variety of strategies, I use Acceptance & Commitment Therapy as my primary therapeutic approach. But what does that even mean? I’m all about breaking out of “the normal trap” & how you “should be living.” Making decisions based on what matters to YOU allows you to live your best life. I aim to meaningfully engage you in the present vs. staying caught up & struggling with those same old hurts & habits. This can be particularly liberating for different forms of addiction, anxiety, & difficulties in relationships! In case you actually want to know about my qualifications, I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Louisiana Tech University in 2016. I established my private practice, Legendary Counseling, in 2020. I am currently in the process of completing training as a Certified Geek Therapist through Geek Therapeutics. I have written a chapter for an upcoming book, The Psychology of Elden Ring. And hopefully more exciting things to come!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I love combining pop/gamer/anime culture to help create coping skills you’ll want to use! And I always aim to provide a safe, non-discriminatory, non-judgmental environment that you may allow yourself to be vulnerable & grow within. Note: I’m NOT the expert with all the answers & has life together. It’s more like you’re climbing a mountain over there, & I’m climbing one over here. It’s not as if I’m at the top resting. Rather, from where I am on my mountain, I can see obstacles on yours that you may not. So I can point them out & show detours that’s aren’t as rough – if you’re willing!
