About My Clients
Clients come to me when they are feeling overwhelmed with life’s responsibilities and are having a difficult time managing their emotional responses. My goal is to provide a safe space to help you navigate your inner most thoughts and feelings while working together to help you gain a better sense of understanding of yourself, your relationships, and your experiences.
My Background and Approach
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I enjoy working with individuals and couples who are experiencing challenges and are interested in healing and creating lives and relationships that thrive. I graduated with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2016 and have worked with diverse populations in correctional, medical, and private practice settings, treating mood disorders and extensive trauma. I believe strongly that old wounds can be healed and relational patterns can be rewired for lasting and loving connections.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I feel that my best work is done when I am challenging my clients to take an active role in living their best life. Having been trained in the principles of Marriage and Family Therapy, I often refer to myself as a "systems thinker” and believe that all behavior makes sense in context.From a systems perspective, it is necessary to consider all of the factors that are in play including an individual's experiences, belief systems, personality characteristics, social settings, cultural influences, past trauma, etc. In my opinion, effective therapy must begin with increasing awareness of how those factors have played a role in our own development. When we are confronted with the hard truth that our past has led us to thinking and behaving in ways that no longer serve us, we can begin the process of change.
