About My Clients
I have a passion for helping women with anxiety and the unique challenges we face. I get that it’s not easy to ask for help, especially if you're the one everyone comes to with their proble. When you tell me that you can’t shut your brain off, you feel on edge and worry all the time, you struggle to stand up for yourself, or you feel depressed or unworthy--I know what that feels like, and I promise things can get better.
My Background and Approach
My style is direct but supportive, and I will never try to make you talk about or do anything you don’t want to. I will give you the space, tools, and support you need to create the life you really want. I have 23 years of clinical experience, and my approach to therapy is tailored to your needs and goals, which we will clarify during your first few visits. It is also client-centered, trauma-informed, and rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It's an honor and a privilege to do this work, and I'm impressed every day by my clients' bravery and resilience. I believe that change is possible if you are willing to do the work. I've had my own experiences in therapy over the years, and they have been life-changing. I have learned self-acceptance, confidence and that I am a lot stronger than I ever knew. I have an affinity for those who identify as animal-lovers, weirdos, or outsiders, and humor is my #1 favorite coping (or defense) mechanism.
