About My Clients
I'm happy to work with a variety of people who have different goals and challenges. Those who benefit most from my approach are open to exploring a combination of traditional therapy and more creative, outside-the-box interventions that have demonstrated positive outcomes, and are rooted in evidence-based practice. My goal is to help clients identify core concerns, strengthen their ability to cope, and work through experiences that are impacting their mental health.
My Background and Approach
I use various approaches, including EMDR, Brainspotting, Ego State Therapy, art-based interventions, and somatic techniques to support trauma healing and post-traumatic growth. It is my priority to stay informed on effective brain and body-based interventions for treating trauma so that you are able to fully benefit from time spent working with me. My approach incorporates a feminist perspective, and begins with collaboration and connection; I want to take time to explore your goals and obstacles, while also getting to know you as a person. You are the expert on your life, so I view therapy as a collaborative team approach that allows me to serve as a supportive guide. I offer a sliding scale for services.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
All of us have had experiences that impact how we think, feel, act, and react in the present. I prioritize a judgment-free, collaborative working relationship that respects where my client is at in their readiness to tackle certain issues. The more time that I spend in the mental health field, the more that I understand how often and unexpectedly our present is tied to our past. Additionally, I value the ways in which lived experience can inform the therapy process when tied in with professional experience and education.
