About My Clients
I believe that an individual's health relies on a "whole" approach of care, meeting physical, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, relational, and environmental needs. I believe that every individual deserves a life of total wellness. I believe that our clients are the experts in their own lives, and have the right to self-determine issues of health, relationships, and personal fulfillment.
My Background and Approach
I believe the first and most important step is to create a nonjudgmental space to process what is on your mind. I am here to empower you to become your own therapist in the end, by giving you tools for coping and by helping you learn and let go of what is not serving you. I will meet you where you’re at--you do not have to feel ‘prepared’ for therapy sessions. We will be able to genuinely explore your feelings and inner dialogue together, even if that’s not something you would normally consider. Together, we can improve your current state of being, whether that involves strategies for making important decisions, or how to go through a change or loss, coping techniques for depression, hopelessness, PTSD, addictive behaviors, obsessive thoughts or actions, worry, insomnia, relationship with food, with sex, concerns relating to your family of origin. I’m here for you, and I look forward to our first session together. Stay strong, as storms never last.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We welcome you. We will welcome you regardless of your present status; anxious, sad, angry, lonely, happy, questioning, depressed, lost or otherwise. We will welcome you regardless of your current family situation, relationship or marital status or lack thereof. We will welcome you if you have been to therapy in the past, are looking to come in for the first time, or have no idea what to expect. We will not judge you based upon your personal history, age, race, ethnic background, appearance, sexual orientation or gender identity. We welcome all beliefs, religions, spirituality, and affiliations. We welcome children, even when they act like children. We welcome adults, families, couples, and we welcome you. We welcome your tears, your laughter, your thoughts, your moods, your journey, and your story. We are all in this together, trying to find our way. All are welcome. You are welcome.
