About My Clients
I specialize in working with individuals who may be struggling with performance, anxiety and panic, depression, life and faith transitions, sexual and gender identity, disordered eating, medical issues, depression, and relationship concerns. I also work with clients struggling with ADHD, OCD, and perfectionism. I have experience working with clients individually, as couples, and in families.
My Background and Approach
I believe each person is made up of many intersecting identities that are often muted or not explored. My main forms of therapeutic treatments are from Compassionate Focus Therapy (CFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gestalt therapy, and psychodynamic lenses. I am also well-trained in most treatment styles relevant to individual and couple’s therapy. I also have training in CBT, DBT, ACT, and humanistic therapies. I love getting creative with my therapeutic techniques and find that healing can be interactive and fun, while also very profound and meaningful. My treatment approach is specifically tailored to your presenting concern and goals in a way that is out-of-the-box at times. My recent experience with athletes and as a professor of a course in performance psychology allows me to apply that knowledge when working with a diverse array of individuals; not only athletes but also those working in occupations that demand high levels of performance.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Although I am a devoted Christian, I believe that sexuality and gender identity is integral to who we are. For this reason, I made it a goal to properly learn how to provide ethical therapy to individuals of all gender, sexuality, and faith/spiritual backgrounds. I also believe in cultural and societal disparities that interfere or interrupt our well-being. I have training and experience in culturally-informed treatment to make sure every client of mine feels heard, safe, and understood.
