About My Clients
My practice is primarily centered around providing LGBTQ*-affirming therapy and working with transgender/gender diverse (TGD) people, whether that means exploring identity is the main focus for therapy or a client is simply seeking an affirming provider to address a different psychological concern. I have experience providing sensitive and affirming psychotherapy to folks that are more broadly LGBTQ, non-monogamous, and kink involved. I also write support letters for gender affirming care.
My Background and Approach
My approach is warm, nurturing, and exploratory, to help my clients identify and better understand the concerns in their lives. My philosophy in therapy is that the keys to creating warm and helpful therapeutic relationships are nonjudgment, curiosity, and just a bit of humor. It is important to me to find levity, laughter, and a sense of play with my clients to be able to address the heavier, more difficult topics in more approachable ways. At the core of my practice I take a relational psychodynamic approach, while pulling strategies from other modalities that I believe would best benefit each client and their concerns. I seek to develop a comprehensive understanding of a client's relationships, emotional experience, thought patterns, and personal values to guide a collaborative therapeutic process that leads to meaningful change.
