About My Clients

My clients are adults, children, teens and families. Common themes in my work include trauma, attachment issues, adoption, anxiety, OCD, family conflict, relationship issues, parenting work, ADHD, autism, emotion regulation issues, racial and cultural trauma, and LGBTQIA+ identity. My clients want to break old cycles that no longer serve them and develop more productive and healthy ways of being - whether that's individually or as parents.

My Background and Approach

I'm a Licensed Graduate Marriage and Family therapist in Maryland with a research background in child development, resilience in racial and ethnic minority families, and teen sexual health. I have worked in different community mental health settings, focusing on therapy to Latinx immigrants. My approach is relational and attachment-based. I draw from a variety of techniques like Attachment-based Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Structural Family Therapy. I am trained in EMDR. When behavioral skills are needed, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness. I have a Certificate for Couple and Family Therapy for LGBTQIA+ Clients. As someone from a non-traditional and multicultural family, I know how important it can be to explore intersectionality and the systems that impact us in order to support understanding, acceptance and healing.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone has the innate capacity for healing and growth, and that this happens when you feel safe. I offer you a safe space where you can explore who you are, and voice confusion and hurt in order to heal and live a purposeful life. My therapy values include being social justice oriented, culturally responsive, neurodiversity affirming, and LGBTQIA+ affirming. I help my clients unpack past hurt, identify their needs, set boundaries, communicate effectively, and develop courage to face their fears. In our therapy space, we will work on achieving your goals, and I incorporate compassion and humor along the way. If you are wondering if it's time to seek therapy or if I would be a good fit for your needs, connect with me and set up a 15-minute free consultation call. **Yo hablo español y ofrezco servicios en español, se puede comunicar conmigo en español.
