About My Clients

I have had the privilege to support a wide range of individuals, couples, and families who have sought my services for various reasons. However I specifically tailor my services for those who feel the need for support, guidance, or a listening ear as they navigate deep emotional feelings that impact them and the relationships they are in. I provide a compassionate and understanding space where we can work together to alleviate the pain and help you find relief.

My Background and Approach

If you're reading this, chances are you or your loved one has experienced trauma, and you're seeking help to reduce its impact your relationships. My background experience has given me broad understanding and ability to help in this area. It includes training and experience in addiction, family conflict, anger management, couple resolution and communication using various modalities based on the principles of CPT, TF-CBT, IFS, EFT, DBT, Gottman, Object Relations, and Attachment. Prior to and following licensure, the community is at the heart of over twenty years of my service including my role as case manager, social volunteer, mental health residential specialist, problem solving court and family violence advocate. My exposure to various family circumstances and dynamics provides the gentle understanding and nonjudgmental insight that builds a safe space for human collaboration, growth, and healing.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

One of the key aspects of my approach is recognizing that each person's experience is unique. I understand that trauma and attachment issues can manifest in different ways for different individuals. This is the basis for the balance between in-the-moment and deep recall work I do with clients. Three fundamental principles are at the core of my work: 1) Our memories are our greatest friends and our greatest foes. It's the memory of unsafe situations that keeps the feeling alive in the form of anxiety, depression, anger, or fear. 2) Our bodies are not separate from our mind & emotions and what we think, feel and believe finds an outlet in our sensory and behavioral worlds. and 3) We can not change the memory of our past, we can only apply a different understanding to it to heal.
