About My Clients
If you are looking to feel empowered to take an active role in the therapy process, I am here to help you deepen your understanding of yourself, your relationships, and your family, identify what is and is not working well in your life, and use this newfound understanding to create meaningful change.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with experience working with individuals, couples, and families, in therapy as well as helping clients navigate larger systems such as schools and healthcare settings. I take a collaborative, non-judgmental approach to therapy and believe that I have a responsibility to create a safe, supportive, open environment where clients feel empowered to take an active role in the therapy process. I focus on patterns within and across generations of families, the balance between connectedness and individuality, and increasing an individual’s ability to cope with and tolerate stress. I am EMDR trained, Gottman Method Level 1 and 2 certified, SafeZone LGBTQ+ ally trained, and have advanced training in perinatal mental health.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone is generally doing the best they can with the tools they have. If someone is struggling it is not because they aren't trying or something is "wrong" with them - it's because the tools that once worked well aren't working as well as they used to. As someone who has benefitted from therapy and learning new tools myself, I am grateful to be able to offer the same help I support I received to others.
