About My Clients
I am an AutPlay Certified Therapist, which means I love working with neurodiverse kids, teens and adults. I also love helping adults figure out work/life balance and navigating parenting. I enjoy helping my clients find ways to grow and thrive, through playing games, making art together and talking.
My Background and Approach
I received my Masters of Social Work from Rutgers University in 2007. I also completed a Masters of Divinity at Princeton Theological Seminary. I am a Certified Social Worker- Private, Independent Practice. I have experience working in several outpatient clinics with children, adolescents and adults. I practice child centered play therapy, where the child processes their thoughts, feelings and experiences through play and I narrate what they are doing, play along with them however they’d like and narrate any feelings I’m noticing to help the child start to identify their feelings and learn to own and express them in healthy ways. I also enjoy family play therapy, where I play with the child or children and their caregiver all together and help the family develop skills of listening, narrating feelings and developing strong bonds of attachment between parents and their children. I have experience leading groups for children, adolescents and adults for over 15 years.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a deacon in the Episcopalian church, which means I lead in worship and help organize ministries in my church. I'm proud of our church being open and affirming and sharing God's love with everyone. My faith is an important part of who I am and when we meet I want to understand what is important to you with no judgement.
