I focus my practice on highlighting the strengths of my clients. Using a variety of evidenced-based modalities, my goal is to support, challenge, and teach you as you work toward achieving a healthier, happier you. Through feedback, inquiry, processing, and psychoeducation, I aims to provide whatever you may be searching for.
My Background and Approach
Before starting my career as a therapist, I worked as a first responder in the Denver Metro Area. I worked collaboratively with some of Colorado’s bravest individuals, and I saw the importance of putting mental health on the frontlines. My clinical training began when I graduated from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology with my master’s in clinical mental health counseling. I started my counseling career working with children in residential and day treatment settings. Through my work in the residential treatment system, I expanded my passion and experience to working with trauma, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, and attachment issues. When working with children, I emphasize holistic care and enter the world of the child through play! I have found that all children, including my neurodiverse clients, learn and process through interactive skill-building.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe wholeheartedly in human resilience and have focused my practice on highlighting the strengths of my clients. My goal is not only to teach you new tools but to highlight the resilience and capability you have within yourself to conquer whatever obstacles you may be facing. I am here to create a safe space to help my clients navigate the complexities of the human experience and work to overcome the internal and external challenges that they have encountered throughout their lives. Intersectional and cultural competencies are at the forefront of my work. You are not an island; you are a being with connections to the outer world and I will always strive to understand how our worlds are similar and how they differ. I’m passionate about serving underrepresented groups in the mental health world and am affirming of LGBTQA, poly, and queer populations.
