About My Clients
Do you have issues sleeping too much or not enough? Are you constantly in your head? You "feel" too deeply - or the opposite - you're numb. Maybe you're dealing with the after effects of trauma, or feeling consumed by anxiety or depression. Perhaps you're dealing with a difficult life event: a divorce, a job change, an ill family member. You feel unsure of where to start. You feel stuck. Allow me to help you feel heard, supported, and validated.
My Background and Approach
For me, genuineness, authenticity, and connection are the foundation of therapy. I practice using an integrative approach that is tailored to each unique client. I tend to integrate client-centered therapy, CBT, and DBT. I really enjoy working with the LGBTQ+ community, young adults and mood disorders. I often provide "homework" or resources to read between sessions to make sure you are getting the most out of what we do in therapy!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
On my path to becoming a therapist I volunteered with the non-profit NAMI where I spoke to hundreds of high school students about the importance of mental health. I also enjoyed working with autistic individuals in multiple different settings. Social justice is very important to me (as I believe it should be for all therapists) and I believe that constant learning and listening is imperative to remain culturally competent.
