About My Clients
I absolutely love working with teens and young adults as one learns so much about themselves and the world in a time where one has more control and conscious choice over their life for the first time. Therapeutic foci include adjustment difficulties, relationship conflict and relational skills, emotional expression and regulation, identity exploration, trauma, attachment disruptions, grief, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, executive functioning skills, and/or chronic pain.
My Background and Approach
I believe the most important ingredient for effective therapy is a solid relationship between client and therapist. Because every client is different, every therapeutic relationship is also different. We’ll co-create it together and redesign it as needed along the way. You will always be the expert on you, and I will honor that fully. My style of therapy is 100% consent-based. You have choice every step of the way – the choice to attend the session, the choice to engage in discussion or any activity, and the choice to take (or leave) anything from therapy into your day-to-day life. I have a very thorough toolbox of evidenced-based interventions and strategies to support you when needed, and I have full confidence in the power of the therapeutic relationship to guide us along this journey.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a white, hetero, cis-female (she/her) with higher education. I am fairly able-bodied now, and I’ve had experiences outside of that identity starting as a child. I am originally from Alabama, and I lived in Colorado for the past 12 years. I recently moved abroad, where I am soaking up a new culture, learning a new language, and relearning to embody a more leisure and playful existence. I love nature, adventure, and furry friends of all kinds! I enjoy breaking patterns that no longer serve me and challenging anything that seems “impossible” to me. I practice what I teach AND I’m confident I’ll be a work in progress until my last breath.
