About My Clients
I work very well with a range of different clients, and especially well with people who have learned to prioritize the needs and comfort of other people over their own. My approach is helpful for individuals who want to build a more solid relationship with self and others.
My Background and Approach
I hold a degree in counseling psychology and am independently licensed mental health counselor. I am queer, engage in anti-racism personal work, and also continue to engage in my own personal therapy journey, which has been difficult and rewarding. I can confidently say that I have personally done the inner work that I invite my clients to do. My primary goal will be to gain an understanding of you, and to develop a plan of how I can support you based on your specific needs and struggles. I specialize in a trauma-informed approach which will use our therapeutic relationship as the guiding force, and I will invite you into the wisdom and experiences of your own body at a gentle pace that feels safe for you. There is no rush in your process.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that there are many societal systems that interrupt our spiritual, emotional and physical health. I believe that you are not broken, that all your experiences, "symptoms", behaviors and thoughts make sense. You are a whole person deserving of respect and attention right now as you are, and you don't need to change anything about yourself to be worthy of it.
