About My Clients
Ideally, I prefer to work with individuals or couples 18-45 who are experiencing a variety of issues ranging from interpersonal relationship conflict to internal anxieties. Working with all different backgrounds allows me to hone my skills as a therapist and grow as an individual. The challenges a new client can bring me allow us to both grow together as we navigate this journey together.
My Background and Approach
I started my therapeutic journey as a fellow client, just like you. As a young man, coming out of the military and starting college, I found that I often had a different perspective on life than my peers due to my experiences overseas. The adjustment period from military life to civilian life was tough but I found solace while working with my own therapist. The experience was very enlightening and I wanted to be able to help others who might be struggling through their own transition in life. The best part about therapy is the opportunity to have some outside perspective on a stressful situation. While you might think you can get this from friends or family, keep in mind they are never truly unbiased and may not be able to provide the objectivity you need to make the best decision. Working with a therapist provides you with practical and proven tools needed to be successful.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Coming from a strong faith background, I often struggled to align my religious beliefs with my actions. Working with my own therapist has helped me to navigate any cognitive dissonance I experienced while I explored my sexual orientation and relationships. Now that I have found peace within myself and within my faith, I aim to be a source of comfort for others dealing with similar thoughts or feelings. As a therapist, I have worked with individuals and couples struggling with a variety of issues ranging from interpersonal relationship conflict to internal anxieties. The wealth of different backgrounds my clients come from has helped me to hone my skills and become adaptable to their problems. As an LGTBQ+ ally it is my passion to help others within the community live happy and healthy lives while they too come to terms with themselves. Being comfortable in your own skin is the first step to experiencing true happiness, something everyone deserves to have.
