About My Clients
I believe counseling is a safe space where clients can explore ways to support their mental well-being, heal past trauma, explore relationship issues, challenge negative thought patterns, and/or make healthy changes. I have a history of working with clients who are going through difficulties with infertility, experiencing anxiety and/or depression, and I provide a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community.
My Background and Approach
I have a background working with clients and private practice and spent 11 years in the field of higher education. I have specialized training working with the mind body program for clients and couples who are experiencing infertility issues. I also spent a lot of time focusing on using cognitive tools to support healthier thinking patterns and building healthier mindsets with clients. My background also gives me special training in working in the field of crisis response and suicide / risk assessment. I love working in the community and providing trainings and support related to mental health awareness and empowering everyone to intervene if they're concerned about the safety and mental health of a friend or family member.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I know that counseling is an effective way to help support people in their daily lives. I believe that counseling should be used as an early intervention to help support people who are struggling with their emotional well-being and mental wellness. I think culturally we have leaned on it during times of crisis. However, if we utilize counseling throughout our lifetime during times of either difficulty, trauma, grief, for relationship issues and other issues we encounter it can help support our overall health and increase our quality of life.
