About My Clients
Through a non-judgmental and empathetically based therapeutic relationship, I work to provide guidance in the process of increasing self-awareness, practicing self-acceptance, and ultimately having the client self-reflect in a way that brings confidence in their continuing life choices and experiences. I welcome individuals, couples/partners, and families.
My Background and Approach
I take a holistic approach to counseling, incorporating a systems view that combines individual, relational, and societal systems. I hold a Masters degree in Counseling with a specialty in Relationship and Family Therapy. My internship was held at Roosevelt high school as the family therapist intern for the 2019/2020 school year. Some relevant trainings I have completed through Columbia Care include: Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, and CBT for Psychosis. I have also completed two suicide prevention trainings: Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and QPR Suicide Prevention Certificate.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
All identities are welcome and may be explored in counseling including gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, immigration status, body size, religion, age, socioeconomic status, ability, and relationship status/type. Identity, privilege, and power show up both overtly and covertly in our everyday lives and will also be explored in counseling. My counseling room is an anti-racist, fat positive, and LGBTQIA2S+ supportive environment.
