About My Clients
Do you feel like experiences of harm and trauma are managing your life? I want to work with you to build the skills to participate in life in affirming, healing, and meaningful ways. My areas of specialization are working with individuals who are in the LGBTQ+ community who have experienced violence, such as sexual violence, childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, intimate partner violence, family system-based violence, spiritual abuse, and community-based violence.
My Background and Approach
If you are looking for a structured, goals-focused, and nonjudgemental therapeutic experience, we might be a great fit! I work from evidence-based practice approach pulling in the following theoretical models: Affirmative Therapy with LGBTQ+ Folx, Intersectional Feminist, Anti-Oppression, Person Centered, Trauma-Informed, Harm Reduction, Relational, Empowerment, and Strenths-Based Practice. My therapeutic practice centers a holistic, sex and body positive, transformative healing, and trauma-informed lens. I would say I practice with an integrative approach, a mash up of psychodynamic, holistic, humanistic, and behavioralism models. My practice includes models such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Sound Relationship House (Gottman), Attachment-Based Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe all people are intrinsically valuable. I do not believe in "good" people or "bad" people. I believe that we are complex beings who are doing the best we can at all times and can learn new tools and strategies to engage with ourselves, our circles, and community in new and healing ways. I practice from an anti-racist, intersectional feminist, person-centered, trauma-informed, transformative healing, sex and body positive, and holistic lens. My practice centers challenging societal norms and standards and working towards insight, compassion, accountability, openness, and psychological flexibility.
