About My Clients

Do you find yourself avoiding things that are important to you—for example, building friendships or relationships, or working toward a goal? Do you find yourself worrying–thinking about worst-case scenarios or being up at night with racing thoughts? Or do you find yourself feeling guilty all the time and worrying about your impact on others? These are just some of the reasons people seek therapy. Therapy has the potential to help provide relief from symptoms and help you work toward your goals.

My Background and Approach

I work with each client to tailor therapy to their needs. I draw from many different approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy to help clients identify thought patterns underlying their distress and solution-focused therapy to help clients draw from their strengths to cope with their problems. While therapy primarily focuses on psychological factors such as mental health symptoms, thought patterns, and behaviors, I take a holistic approach to mental healthcare that recognizes the biological, social, and cultural factors that play a role in each person's psychological functioning. I have experience working with clients with anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, family concerns, career concerns, and identity exploration. I have a specialization in therapy with LGBTQ+ communities: I previously worked at an LGBTQ+ community counseling center, and I have over a decade of experience as a researcher studying LGBTQ+ mental health and family support for LGBTQ+ youth.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
