About My Clients
I believe in the importance of a holistic, collaborative & compassionate approach to therapy. I work with various populations because of my two degrees; such as adolescents, adults, LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, athletes, performers, and medical, business, and service industry professionals. I work with individuals primarily on areas such as life transitions, personal stressors, OCD, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, grief, relationship issues, trauma, sports & human performance.
My Background and Approach
My undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon is a B.S. in Psychology. Following that, I was a three-sport coach at a 5A high school for four years in Portland, where I discovered my passion for the psychological development of my athletes. This ultimately led me to Adler University in Chicago, where I received my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health and M.S. in Sport & Human Performance. My therapeutic approach is integrative, which focuses on the therapeutic relationship, psychoeducation, mindfulness, and evidence-based methods and interventions to implement learned skills for emotional regulation, motivation, situational awareness, goal setting, communication, and self-compassion. My sport & human performance approach focuses on evidence-based methods and interventions to help clients achieve peak performance. I develop personalized strategies and guidance for each client to manage stress, build confidence, overcome performance anxiety, and improve their overall mental well-being.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in humans' remarkable capacity for change and growth, both physically and mentally, throughout their lives, driven by experiences, learning, and adaptation. This adaptability allows individuals to learn new skills, overcome challenges, and evolve their perspectives. The human brain is not static; it's highly adaptable and can form new connections and pathways throughout life. This means we can learn new skills, habits, and knowledge at any age. Every experience, whether positive or negative, contributes to our knowledge, understanding, and personal development. An individual's adaptability is crucial for survival and thriving in a constantly changing world. Individuals with a growth mindset view challenges as opportunities for learning and growth rather than as threats. Social justice and mental health are intricately connected. I'm passionate about advocating and taking actionable steps for social justice as a crucial step towards promoting mental health and well-being.
