About My Clients
I currently work with adolescents and adults, with a specialty with older adolescents and young adults and middle-aged adults, with expertise helping women, LGBTQ+, trans youth and young adults, non-binary & gender non-conforming individuals, college students, and caregivers. I help clients work through Depression, Trauma & PTSD, Social Anxiety, Generalized Anxiety, Substance Misuse, Borderline Personality Disorder, relationship issues, stress, insomnia, self-esteem, grief, and life transitions.
My Background and Approach
My training has been rooted in holistic, client-centered care through my education, and I have been trained on a multitude of evidenced-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. In addition, I have pursued specialized training in grief counseling, gender-affirming care, counseling with LGBTQ populations, and family counseling. Prior to opening my private practice in August 2020, I have held a variety of positions in the field of mental health care, and worked in a variety of settings. These experiences have informed my personal theoretical approach, which lies in the holism of each person and how this creates unique perspectives and experiences in the world. With that a belief that all humans innately desire growth and development, and alignment with their authentic self.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a counselor I have integrated the belief that all individuals deserve the highest quality of life achievable, and have chosen to focus my career development on helping those in the LGBTQ+ community, as well as individuals with disabilities to promote this improved quality of life. In addition, I am an advocate for child empowerment and advocacy, as well as racial and gender equity.
