About My Clients

My clients tend to have ADHD, ASD, or a combination of both (AuDHD) and other common co-occurring symptoms/diagnoses (which includes depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, among others!) My clients often have had therapy in the past with neurotypical therapists but have stated a preference in working with a therapist who better understands their lived experience. This is especially true for folks with ADHD, though there is a ton of overlap between ASD too!

My Background and Approach

I am a master's level psychologist who has worked in a few private practices since 2020, first as a psychometrician where I conducted a variety of psychological evaluations to aid in diagnosis before becoming a therapist working as a generalist. Over the next few years I started to shift my attention to learning about modern developments with regard to ADHD and ASD and my journey toward specialization began. Before starting my own practice October 2024, the vast majority of my clients had some combination of ADHD or ASD and I saw remarkable results. I utilize what is known as a person-centered approach to therapy which puts individual needs over specific therapy modalities (CBT, DBT, EMDR, etc.). Ultimately I work to help develop self-acceptance and even appreciation of neurodivergence and help my clients build or request additional supports to help them succeed/develop in the areas that matter most to them. My clients describe me as personable, authentic, and knowledgeable.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in people being wholly themselves, which tends to result in exploring and highlighting various aspects of identity and the intersections between these identities and the contexts in which they exist. This means that I strongly support individuals who belong to LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, AAPI communities, as well as folks with disabilities (including ADHD and ASD!), and people who are marginalized or face differential levels of inequities. Prior to my education and training to work as a therapist, I had intended on working as a Christian pastor, and in my education and training I focused my studies on understanding and advocating about the need for folks to understand and approach issues of marginalization and injustice in an embodied way, not just intellectually. This previous training also aided me in being able to provide meaningful support for folks who experienced religious trauma/abuse and to help some carve out a space for their faith apart from these experiences, when desired.
