About My Clients
Have you ever felt like you don't belong? Have you ever felt caught between worlds? As an immigrant therapist who is part of the LGBTQ+ community, I know what it feels like to struggle with dignity and authenticity in a world that demands assimilation and struggles with ambiguity. I love working with all kinds of people, especially on identity formation and self-esteem, because I think we all deserve to shine as we are.
My Background and Approach
As a relational, narratively-driven therapist, I like working creatively and conversationally to get curious about your story - witnessing it and supporting you in telling, crafting and rewriting it so that it reflects your passion and values in life. I also draw on skill building elements from modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT and Motivational Interviewing to help you gracefully engage with the parts of you that feel stuck, withdrawn, or domineering.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As someone with a history as a writer, community historian and organizer, I believe deeply in the healing power of creativity and storytelling. Regardless of who we are, we all have stories - of gender, of relationship, of home, of culture - and of the power in learning to be able to explore them with play, curiosity and non-judgment. Having worked for years with trauma survivors, I also consider consent and pacing to be a core part of how I work, recognizing that relationship gradually built over time is so often the best medicine, and, as an immigrant social worker who has worked in interdisciplinary settings as an advocate for immigrants and refugees, many of whom have been QTPOC, I also believe that healing takes place when we consider our stories in light of the societies we and our ancestors come from. It would be an honor to witness and share story with you! Please reach out and message if you're interested in learning more about how to start working together.
