About My Clients
From our first phone call, my priority is building a genuine, safe, and unique relationship with you. I often work with anxiety, trauma, panic, OCD, relationship conflict, behavioral addictions, self-injury, loneliness, or depression. But before I see any of the issues on this list, I see you as a fellow human being. Our therapeutic relationship is at the core of every insight, tool, or change that might result from our work together.
My Background and Approach
I utilize Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Existential therapy, and a person-centered approach to help you embrace the wholeness of your lived experience, and better understand yourself and your innate resilience. Many of my clients come in feeling disconnected from themselves and the world around them. Through our initial sessions, we will gently start that process of reconnection. There is no wrong way for you to be in counseling. Our work will be guided by your goals, your needs, and your pacing. Our hour together might feel comforting, humorous, vulnerable, or challenging - but it is most of all yours. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor Candidate and a Nationally Certified Counselor, with my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from U.M. I have 3 years of experience as a suicide crisis counselor with teens and received advanced training in behavioral addictions such as sex, pornography use, and gambling.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an LGBTQ-affirming and trans-competent counselor. I care deeply about Montana's unique culture and rural communities, and have had profound experiences working with clients across diverse cultural, religious, and political spectrums. I have previously led LGBTQ+ support groups and worked as a suicide crisis counselor for teens. Beyond the counseling room, you can find me in a coffee shop, in a hammock with a book, or disappearing into the backcountry.
