About My Clients
Sheri works with both adults and adolescents. She helps people struggling with mental health and/or substance use disorders. She has treated consumers struggling with substance use, depression, anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, biopolar disorder, and intermittent explosive disorder.
My Background and Approach
Sheri holds an MS in sociology as well as an MSW; she understands and believes in the structural problems that impact people's lives. In therapy, Sheri work to help consumers improve their lives by making the changes that they want to make. Sheri incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, tools from Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness in her work with consumers.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Sheri believes in client empowerment and that people know what is best for themselves. She works to help consumers make the changes they want to make in their lives by helping them to better understand their own strengths and abilities as well as the limitations of their environments. She strives to be nonjudgemental and works to understand consumer's perspectives. She volunteered on the rape crisis center hotline for 4 years.
