About My Clients
I work with adults, providing individual therapy sessions. I specialize in eating disorders and work with trauma, relational conflict, disordered eating, mood disruptions, life stressors, substance abuse, addiction, work-related issues and more. I participate in a variety of workshops and trainings in theory and technique, to enhance my knowledge base and to provide an environment that fosters continuous growth in all areas of being.
My Background and Approach
I completed my Undergraduate degree majoring in Psychology and Drama, at the University of Cape Town. I moved to New York and received another Psychology degree at Long Island University's Southampton College. I completed my Masters degree in Creative Arts Therapy with a focus on Drama Therapy at New York University and went on to receive my Psychoanalytic license after training with the Institute of Expressive Analysis. We work to understand how you relate to yourself and the world around you. Goals include connecting thoughts and emotions to behaviors, to enhance insight into your relationships and the role you play in them, unpacking old thoughts and beliefs that do not serve you any longer, working towards replacing them with more adaptive ones, and to increase healthier coping skills to regulate emotions to life's stressors.
