About My Clients
Change can seem daunting, but it is the only way to move forward. We help those looking to change their coping skills, stress responses, communication skills, worldview, and other aspects of themselves that do not serve who they want to be.
My Background and Approach
This is a second career for me. I went back to school graduating from Bridgewater State University in 2018 with an M.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling. This allows me to bring a level of life experience to our work together. I currently focus on adults with a wide variety of issues. I have found many areas helpful and enjoyable including relationship issues, anxiety, and depression. I have presented on gender identity, ethical non-monogamy, and other sexual health issues for the UMass Boston Nursing program, South Shore Sexual Health Center educational programs, and Aspire Health Alliance staff training.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone is doing the best they can with what they have. I believe that everyone is entitled to good, competent non-judgmental mental health services. I believe that everyone is entitled to do better, and most people want to. I believe we live in an existential world and our life, our identity, our way of moving through the universe can and should be whatever we desire. I believe that everyone deserves to be treated with empathy, unconditional positive regard in a way that is true to them and true to their counselor. I believe the relationship between client and counselor the most important factor in successful outcomes.
