About My Clients
Life is already challenging enough, let's not make processing your experience and working through your demons even more difficult; we will figure this out together (if you are ready and willing). This time together is done at your own pace without judgement; I am just privileged to be along for the ride. Mood, Anxiety, Stress, trauma, relationships, adjustments, personality, & psychosis, have all been symptoms issues I've worked with over the years.
My Background and Approach
Because our work is virtual/tele health I have had plenty of time in recent years to compile images, pdfs, and workbooks/sheets that can be shared over a video call and or via email. Yes, we will converse/discuss what we need to (talk therapy), and we will have plenty of tools/resources that can be reviewed/shared/saved for current/future use. I want you to have access to any and all things I've learned and practiced over the years because the work doesn't stop with just our 1-time meeting(s) during the week. As far as modality of treatment/therapeutic approach goes, it depends on what's being brought to the table. Part of my role is hearing what is going on and applying the tools/techniques that would be most effective for you and what you want. I have training in CBT, DBT, ACT, CPT (specific for trauma work), Solution Focus Brief Therapy, Emotion coaching, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Exposure therapy (with specialized training in OCD specific exposures).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am really big on dialectics. I believe we are all connected in some way, I believe change is always constant & transactional, and that the world is filled with opposites (that can be true at the same time). Meaning and truth can evolve over time, and we influence our environment as much as we are influenced by our environment. I recognize the privileges that I have been granted being a cis, white, heterosexual, male, and how I continue to benefit from a system that was designed to do so. I also recognize how the patriarchy impacts myself/other men along with women, and nonbinary folks. I don't expect members of the LGBTQIA, BIPOC, or other groups of folks to teach/educate me as it's my responsibility to be actively doing my own work to understand, support, and work around intertextuality, discrimination, and inequity. In my spare time I am active in my quadball community/team (formally known as quidditch). We strive to be a leader in gender and racial inclusivity for all age groups.
