About My Clients
Life can appear stressful and scary at times, but it does not have to overwhelm you any longer. Taking the first step to begin therapy can be the path to recovery and gaining control of your life once again. I provide a warm and inviting environment for clients to feel listened to, understood and respected. You are in control of your future that starts now.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed mental health counselor with 8 years of private practice experience, as well as 10 years in clinical settings such as psychiatric hospitals, substance abuse clinics and community-based mental health clinics. I have received advanced training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy, Conflict-Resoultion, Mindfulness-Based CBT and Trauma-Informed Therapies. I specialize in anxiety and depressive disorders, as well as substance abuse treatment and work with adolescents. My therapeutic background is rooted in Person-Centered Therapy, which holds the belief that focusing on the unique individual instead of diagnosis works to build a more robust therapeutic alliance to work off in order to achieve goals in therapy. I embrace an eclectic approach to therapy by utilizing a variety of theoretical backgrounds to assist clients in achieving increased satisfaction in their life, accomplishing goals and developing better wellness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I embrace the notion that we as humans all have the capacity for change. Life can be challenging at times and damage our ability to achieve our optimal version of ourselves. I believe that by taking the step of entering therapy is one of the bravest and rewarding decisions we can make during these difficult times, and strive to provide a warm and safe environment for growth and healing to take place.
